Bereavement Group Ministry

Easter Morning—Bellport church members, friends and neighbors gather at 6 am, the Bellport Dock, for the annual Easter Sunrise service. Scripture, singing accompanied on keyboard and violin, and a brief Easter homily by Mother Lilo Carr-Rivera, Christ Episcopal Church. All are welcome!!
Easter Vigil, March 30, 7 pm St. Ann's Episcopal Church, Sayville
All parishioners and clergy of the Great South Bay Deanery will join together with St. Ann’s Parish for The Easter Vigil at 7 pm. This is a meaningful evening service accented with light, scripture, music and The Holy Eucharist.

We gather in the sanctuary at 10 am for Holy Saturday Liturgy of the Word. Then, it’s all hands on deck for flowering of church for Easter morn.

The Great South Bay Deanery hosts the Good Friday Liturgy again at 7 pm. St James Episcopal Chruch, Brookhaven.
Maundy Thursday, March 28, 7 pm, Worship Service
We join together with clergy and brothers and sisters in Christ from the Great South Bay Deanery. We will observe Maundy Thursday worship with symbolic foot-washing, Holy Eucharist and stripping of the altar. The Gospel reading is John 13:1-17; 31b-35.
Thursday March 28, 6 pm, Rand Hall, Agape Meal
We join with other Christians this night to celebrate the ancient Agape Meal or Love Feast. There will be a blessing over a simple meal (breads, cheese ,soup, olives, hummus, dried fruit) like early Christians would have eaten. After dinner we proceed into the sanctuary for Maundy Thursday worship.
Palm Sunday, March 24, 8 and 10 am Worship

Our Pre-Easter Fair begins on March 23, 11- 3 pm in Rand Hall. We will be offering spring bulb and other seasonal plants, Easter crafts, baked goodies and theme baskets. The Fair continues on Palm Sunday, April 24, following the 10 am Worship service.

During Lent we participate in a weekly Potluck dinner and Scripture Study program at rotating church locations. On March 20, we meet at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 31 Ryder Ave, Patchogue, NY. The Reverend James Reiss will lead the discussion. Don’t forget to bring a dish to share

Ash Wednesday, February 14, all day
Lent begins today! The church and sanctuary will be open from 7 am until 8 pm so that everyone may receive ashes. You may receive ashes in the Sanctuary or you may elect to receive ashes outside or curbside for those in a car. Holy Eucharist services will be in the church at 12 noon and 7 pm. The Gospel reading is Mathhew: 6: 1-6, 16-21. We will not have Wednesday Bible Study today.

We will meet in Rand Hall, immediately following 10 am worship for the Annual meeting. Coffee and light fare are provided before the meeting. We hold our annual elections to the Vestry and other positions; the financial and committee reports are delivered. All members of Christ Church are encouraged to attend and participate.
